Willow Flute Song (Duet)

Description From the arranger: “This song, being from Norway, makes me imagine a wintry scene. The sound is a little unfamiliar to modern ears due to the use of the Lydian mode. This version is my arrangement of a traditional Norwegian melody that I first learned from Beth Kollé’s book The Scandinavian Folk Harp, in which she mentions that she learned it from Harper Tasche.” Harp I carries the melody that uses eighth notes, dotted rhythms, and grace notes. Both hands play a sixth apart from each other for some sections. For a trio option, the LH parts of Harp I could be played by a third harpist instead. Harp II is easy. It is all LH 5ths in an ostinato pattern. Either part is playable on a small harp, the lowest note being D below Middle C. Perfect for student/teacher duets! Included are the score (3 pages), separate parts (1-2 pages each), and detailed performance notes.
