Description We are happy to offer music from as many parts of the world as we are able. Much music comes from France. In our library, we have one collection by Michel Capelier. It is always interesting to know about the composers, but Capelier had evaded me. I mentioned this as part of the description for his book, 10 Pieces Faciele Pour la Harpe. Nancy Cochran, noting this, did a little research and found a picture of him. I am sad to say that he passed away in February of 2021. I have not located the obit. Nancy found a very short bio in French, which is roughly translated from Wiki France: Michel Capelier, born May 5, 1945 in Laon and died February 23, 2021 in Paris, is a pianist, university professor, conductor and composer. He was director of a conservatory in a district of Paris. From 1973 to the end in 1986, [ I think there is reference to his creating educational conferences]. He took over for Robert Blot (conductor of Paris Opera and Symphonies) when Blot passed away. His work Goutte de forêt, on a libretto by Fabrice Pinte, was written in 1984. He has been a bandoneonist for the Amapola Quartet ensemble as well as for the Armenonville with which he has recorded a Tour du Monde in (https://www.larmenonville.fr/) tangos for which he wrote the arrangements. We hope this short paragraph honors him. If you have never seen someone play the bandoneon, it is a large concertina that can extend to 5 feet.
