Cinque Ports 2019 is a refined and rare expression of English still wine, composed of the five white grape varieties traditionally used in Champagne; Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Arbanne and Petite Meslier. Aged for nine months in French Fontainebleau oak barrels, followed by prolonged lees ageing, this wine balances subtlety and structure. The result is pale white-gold in colour with green highlights, aromas of hyacinth, orange blossom and mayflower, and a palate that delivers tropical lime, coconut brioche and a lively acid backbone. A wine built to age beautifully, but drinking superbly now.
