Full tasting note and wine making – Nyetimber Classic Cuvee NV is the signature wine of Nyetimber and is a classic blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier and is a perfect balance of elegance and intensity. The blend includes wines from all our vineyards and also from several vintages. The pale-golden hue and fine bubbles make our flagship Classic Cuvee Multi-Vintage the ideal occasion-ready drink – whether it’s toasting a big birthday or simply finishing a busy week. Following extensive ageing in our cellar (usually more than three years), our Classic Cuvee Multi-Vintage has distinctive toasty and spicy aromas. A palate of honey, almond, pastry and baked apples gives it a hint of decadence. Intense yet delicate, elegant yet complex – it’s no wonder it’s consistently crowned one of the best English sparkling wines The producer – The Nyetimber vineyards share similar characteristics with the best sparkling wine vineyards in the world. Greensand and chalk soils allow the vines, in each of the separate sites, to flourish across the south of England. The climate here allows for the slow ripening of the grapes, allowing us to achieve the optimum levels of ripeness and acidity, as well as the complexity and finesse for which their quality wines are renowned. Using only estate-grown grapes from our own vineyards ensures that only the finest fruit is used to craft globally acclaimed Nyetimber wines. Our Head Winemaker, Cherie Spriggs, and her Winemaker husband Brad Greatrix assess each handpicked vineyard individually – from choosing the optimal time to harvest the grapes and supervising their gentle pressing to eventual vinification. All the wines at Nyetimber according to the traditional method, ageing them for extended periods of time to build complexity and flavour, and allowing for generous post-disgorgement time before release.
