Intro to Black Bridge Limited Edition Blue Gin Wheathampstead – the Black Bridge Limited Edition Blue Gin is a summer specific gin focusing on botanicals for summer cocktails though it can be enjoyed all year round! It is citrus forward with notes of grapefruit and lemon plus juniper and cardamom creating a bold zesty gin. To fully appreciate the colour changing nature we recommend a classic tonic with a slice of grapefruit that brings out the floral and citrus notes whilst allowing alchemy to change the colour! The producer – The name Black Bridge comes from the bridge that once stood in Wheathampstead in 1897 and is now part of the old gravel pits to the west of the village. Black Bridge distillery was created at the end of 2017 by friends ash & Luke with a shared passion for Moonshine. ten years research, designing and saving finally led to the construction of the distillery designed to produce small batch spirits. The first successful production of Moonshine was in April 2017. Ash dreamed of opening the distillery for ten years during which time active service in the Royal Navy prevented him from doing so. He designed the 350 ltr stainless steel and copper still that is a modular system capable of producing a range of spirits.
