Massaya is a family-owned producer with a distillery and wineries in the Beqaa Valley and on Mount Lebanon. Established in 1996 by brothers Sami and Ramzi Ghosn, Massaya developed an early connection with Dominique Hebrard of Château Cheval Blanc and the Brunier family of Le Vieux Télégraphe, who were fascinated by the ancient terroir of Lebanon and remain active partners today. Massaya has since become widely regarded as a leading producer in the region, with the Ghosn brothers embodying the very essence of modern-day Lebanon. Terrasses de Baalbeck comes from limestone‑rich terraces on the valley’s eastern flank, a site that naturally produces structured yet lifted fruit. The blend leans on Grenache, Mourvèdre and Syrah, showing dark cherry, plum and a savoury, herbal edge, with that distinctive Beqaa clarity running through the palate. It’s full but not heavy, shaped by altitude and stone rather than sun, finishing with fine tannins and a cool mineral line. A confident, terroir‑driven red that captures Massaya’s balance of Mediterranean warmth and mountain freshness.
