Vanilla, dried fruit and a little apricot are apparent on the nose, leading to a palate that is full-bodied and rich, with orchard fruit, ripe peaches and refined oak, finishing with a spinkling of baking spice. An independent family firm in their fifth generation, Maxime Trijol estate is run by sisters Pauline & Anne-Sophie, who distil the wine made from grapes grown on their own vines (many major Cognacs are simply blenders). The liquid in their VSOP is an average age of around 15 years (the industry minimum is 4 years).
