The Sandridge Barton vineyard was planted in 2008, 3 kilometres downriver from their original vineyard on the Sharpham Estate, and these vines now produce over 80 tonnes of grapes a year from 32 acres. They take a very gentle approach to growing grapes, being concious of the impact on the natural environment and don’t use pesticides or herbicides. The Little Bee is 100% fermented on skins and made with minimal intervention from start to finish. It’s complex, textured and full of energy. The nose is layered with ruby grapefruit, tangerine peel and blood orange. On the palate, you’ll find more grapefruit and sour stone fruit, supported by soft, grippy tannins, taut acidity and a long, generous finish.
