Domaine des Bernardins, Muscat de Beaumes de Venise Half Bottle

At Domaine Bernardins, the vineyards and terroir are the essence of their wines, you can’t make great wine without great grapes. The viticulture is essentially done by hand. Three people work by hand in the vineyards; pruning, de-budding, trellising, leaf removal and picking are thus carried out with the utmost care.  The soil is prepared by using good old-fashioned ploughing. Organic compost is made from grape marc (the discarded stalks and skins).  After many years in sustainable agriculture, the estate is now producing fully certified organic grapes.  They preserve and maintain biodiversity around the vineyard, with edge planting of Olive, almond, pomegranate and cypress trees, wild rosemary and capers, with nesting boxes for birds and bat houses. Notes of apricot and very ripe pear, nicely floral.  Try this chilled as an aperitif, or as a perfect pairing for many dishes, great with fruits, pastries and chocolate desserts.
