Hailing from the Cotes du Frontonnais of southwest France, this Negrette dominant wine has distinct aromas of cinnamon, violets and cassis. The palate is firm and savoury, flavours of Morello cherry, liqourice, almonds and a distinctive touch of wild herbs are pronounced, its soft yet chalky tannins and rustic acidity make it a fantastic food wine. It would be particularly at home paired with rich stewed dishes, roasted lamb, hogget or venison, and a great friend of earthy mushrooms.
