Viña Ilusión is a small, quietly principled project in Rioja Baja run by Martín Alonso and Gloria Plaza, farming organically on limestone‑rich slopes at the foot of the Moncalvillo range. Their focus is on purity and vineyard character, avoiding unnecessary manipulation and keeping everything as simple and transparent as possible. Their unoaked Rioja is a clean, vibrant expression of Tempranillo, Graciano and Garnacha showing fresh red fruit, a touch of spice, and the natural lift that comes from their high‑altitude sites. It’s straightforward, bright, and honest, offering a clear sense of place without the influence of oak.
