Intro to Taittinger Brut Prestige Rose NV Champagne – Taittinger Brut Prestige Rose NV Champagne is a vibrant rosé with an aroma of red summer fruit, enticing wild strawberry and raspberry dominate the stylish and elegant palate. Full tasting note and wine making – Taittinger Rose NV Champagne has aromas of fresh wild strawberries and a hint of spice. On the palate this lively, fruity, fresh and elegant wine is balanced and smooth with good length and persistent flavours of crushed wild raspberry, cherry and blackcurrant. Overall, the Prestige Rosé displays charm and subtle harmony of flavours. The fresh fruit flavours make this Champagne the perfect summer aperitif. However, it also goes well with fruit based desserts and selected cheeses The Chardonnay grapes are sourced from a number of crus in the Marne and L’aube. The Pinot grapes from Ambonnay, Bouzy and Les Riceys, all famous for the quality. L’addition method is used to make the Prestige Rosé to ensure consistency and quality. 85% of the fruit is vinified as white wine and to this is added the other 15% that has been vinified as a red Pinot Noir wine from the best vineyards. The wine is aged for 3 years and it also has a high proportion of Chardonnay which is synonymous of the Taittinger style. The producer – Taittinger remains one of the few Champagne Houses owned and managed by the family named on the label. Its origins date back to 1734 and the Taittinger link was established in 1931 when Pierre Taittinger acquired the House. Today, the Reims it is headed up by Pierre’s grandson, Pierre-Emmanual Taittinger and his son, Clovis and daughter Vitalie both of whom are actively involved in of this Champagne House. Taittinger’s home is situated above miles of chalk tunnels and cellars that are perfect for the slow ageing process required for great Champagne. The hallmark of the Taittinger Champagnes is the high percentage of Chardonnay used in their winemaking which can be anything from 40% in the Brut Réserve Non Vintage to 100% in the prestigious Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs. This Chardonnay dominance provides for a style of elegance, delicacy and finesse that has earned the House many accolades over the years.
