A small winery run by a French-Danish family originating from Mauritius. Idun strive to produce wines that reflect their origin and have an excellent range of elegant fruit forward varietals. Idun Nuit Éternelle Syrah is made to highlight the character of Syrah grapes. It comes from a region known for its cool climate and unique soils. On the nose, you’ll find ripe blackberries, blackcurrant, and plum, along with black pepper, violets, and a touch of spice. Medium to full-bodied with concentrated dark fruit flavours like blackberry, black cherry, and blueberry. There are savoury notes of black olive, liquorice, and leather, and the tannins are fine and well-structured. Fresh acidity keeps the wine lively. The finish is long, with lingering dark fruit, gentle spice, and a hint of oak. It is a good match for grilled lamb, venison, charcuterie, roasted aubergine, mature cheeses, and hearty stews. Consider decanting for an hour before drinking to let the aromas develop fully.
